Saint Matthew Parent Resource Guide
Modern Parenting,
Shared Wisdom.
Parenting today is no small calling. Between shifting cultural norms, digital overload, mental health realities, and the everyday work of shaping hearts and minds, it can feel overwhelming, even isolating. We want you to know that you are not alone in this journey. At Saint Matthew, we believe that families are sacred and that the courageous, faithful work of parenting is essential to God's love being made real in the world.
This Parent Resource Library was born from our desire to support you with more than just prayer and encouragement—it’s a concrete expression of our strategic vision to nurture family wholeness, build resilient community, and reduce stigma around the hard conversations we all face. Whether you're wondering how to talk to your child about anxiety, technology, faith, or identity—we want to walk with you, not just as a church, but as a partner and friend.
For every book listed in this catalog, you can find a physical copy at the “Family Spot” in the main sanctuary building of our church! Please feel free to borrow any books that might be helpful to you.

Raising Empathetic, Compassionate, & Justice-Oriented Kids
Rooted in love, growing in grace, reaching towards justice.
Aligned with our desire to communicate God’s radical love and the Christian call to engage in acts of justice, mercy, and renewal, we want to help parents and caretakers guide their children toward empathy, compassion, and allyship.
In a world too often driven by hate, greed, and self-interest, we need to raise up more empathetic people willing to do courageous acts of love and justice that our world desperately needs. We believe that this work should begin in the home.
As a church rooted in inclusion—“making room to include a diversity of backgrounds, views, and convictions”—we aim to equip families to raise children who see dignity in all people and participate in God’s renewing work in the world.
RESOURCES
Digital Life &
Media Literacy
Cultivating discerning hearts amidst digital noise.
In a rapidly changing digital landscape, Saint Matthew strives to help parents and their children thoughtfully embrace technology with wisdom, boundaries, and spiritual grounding.
We have compiled resources to equip families to lead meaningful conversations in order to promote healthy habits, responsible engagement, and deeper connection amid digital noise.
We know that there is no one-size-fits all philosophy when it comes to technology, and so you will find a variety of viewpoints reflected in the suggested resources.
Whatever your approach, we invite families to practice presence, discernment, and attentiveness to God's voice. Cultivate spaces where technology serves life, rather than overwhelms it. In an age of constant stimulation, we are called to pause, listen, and make room for the Spirit to guide how we connect, create, and belong.
