SMALL GROUPS FOR WOMEN
Tuesday Groups:
Lectio Divina Prayer Group, 6:00-7:00 am at Marilyn Wolf's Home
Join this early morning prayer group as they "pray the scriptures." Each week they look at a different passage from the Bible and pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal what it is saying personally to them. It is a meaningful form of reflective prayer that makes the scripture come alive. Leaders: Marilyn Wolf and Ruth Niemi
Grandmother's Group, 9:45-11:30 am in Stenman at Church (begins again starting April 8th)
The focus of ths group is continued personal spiritual growth to better mentor grandchildren and other little ones through prayer, study, and action. Their missional focus is the Monument Corridor and the layette ministry at County Hospital. You can join these grandmothers any time and become part of this caring group. Leader: Barbara Groenveld
Why Does Prayer Make Me Sweat? 7:00 pm at Nancy & Dave Pierce's Home (4 sessions, every other week beginning May 20th)
We so often have feelings of inadequacy when it comes to prayer--where do I begin; what words am I supposed to use; why can't I seem to focus; why does it seem like everyone else can do it so much better; will God really listen to my feeble prayers? If you would like to learn more about prayer and experience in a completely non-threatening environment, come to this group! We will focus not on formula, but on authenticity. Come learn the amazing joy of prayer and develop a closer relationship with Jesus. Leaders: Diane Larson and Nancy Pierce
Wednesday Groups:
Early Risers, 6:30-8:00 am in Stenman at church
This group will be looking at the book of Acts and the travels of Paul. Ongoing group--join anytime. Leader: Marlene Ciminera
Thursday Groups:
Study of Acts, 9:30-11:00 am in Stenman at Church
The book of Acts describes the church as the new community of God's people, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Learn more about the pathway to authentic community through this study. Learn how Acts has as much to say to the world today as it did 2000 years ago. Be encouraged to build stronger community and deepen your passion to invite others into fellowship of Christ-followers. Leader: Jan Richards
Alpha, 7:30 pm at Barbara Chapman's home in Walnut Creek (10 sessions beginning April 10th)
This group is for women in their 20's and 30's and will provide a chance to look at the basics of Christianity through the Alpha course. Each of the sessions includes a video and small group time. Each woman is encouraged to invite a friend outside of the church to be a part of this group. Leaders: Maggie School and Tami Mann
