We say it with regularity and without wavering: Saint Matthew is a church on a mission. As a missionary congregation, bringing people to Christ and growing them in their faith, we must understand ourselves as partners in that mission and not just "members."

God does not call us to get our names on the "rolls" and then minimally maintain our "membership."


God is calling us to be partners on a mission: to invite people to faith in a living God, grow and equip people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and serve others by the power of the Holy Spirit.

A Passion for the Good News of Jesus Christ
Living lives of gratitude instead of guilt and fear.

An Authentic Community of Faith
Developing loving relationships built on truth and integrity.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us  - 1 John 1:8
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. - John 13:35

Life-Transforming Worship
Inviting new friends to an encounter with the living God.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. - John 4:24
So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making he appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to Christ. - 2 Corinthians 5:20

Every Member a Minister
Discovering, developing and employing our spiritual gifts.
We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith. - Romans 12:6
Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. - 1 Peter 4:10
